TOKYO SANKEI BUILDING

EARTHQUAKE-RESISTANT

Seimic performance 1.5 times higher
than the new seimic criteria

In the 6F of the building, a 9-meter tall metal
Mega Truss is installed to safely support the
upper level sections while a mega brace
using high-intensity steel material is mounted
from the 6F running up to the 13F.

Disaster stranded commuters
temporary reception facility

In 2014, we entered into an agreement with Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo to accept people with difficulties in returning home, etc. In the event of a large-scale disaster such as an earthquake directly under the capital, Otemachi Sankei Plaza's halls and conference rooms are opened and returned home. We have put in place a system that can accept up to about 1000 people with difficulties. At that time, we will provide emergency food products and simple toilets, etc., in the disaster prevention storage warehouse on the fourth floor of the building to support the safety and security of those who have evacuated.

ENERGY

Strong support for clients’business

To ensure a stable supply of energy, we adapted a highly reliable and secure 66kV loop distribution system.
In the event that service of one of the power supply systems from the two routes is down, it is possible to receive power from the other power supply system that is still functioning.
There are also two 7,500 kVA main transformers within the building and have sufficient capacity even with a buildup in power load.

※The power supply time varies depending on the load.

SAFETY

Support visitors, Building and
community safety and security

Considering the improved safety, comfort and
management function, the Building has the
aggregated monitoring and control functions of the
equipment, disaster-prevention and security in the
Central Disaster Prevention Center on the first
basement level where the 24-hour manned system
supports both the Building and workers.
The Building sets up the disaster stockpile
warehouse of Chiyoda-ward on the 4th basement
level where such emergency materials as medical
materials and emergency food supplies are stored
for the neighboring areas in the event of a disaster.

Temporary reception facility of person having
difficulty coming home at the time of disaster

In the Great East Japan Earthquake that occurred on March 11, 2011, we opened Sankei Plaza of the third floor of this building to approximately 100 people who became difficult to return home by confusion of traffic network.
In addition, in response to the confusion in transportation that continued for a while after the earthquake, we opened bicycle parking lots for the tenants who wanted to commute by bicycle for a certain period of time.
